Reasons for neutering dogs
1. Personal reasons
In fact, I want to sterilize yuanyuan for a long time. First, I personally do not advocate family breeding. After all, my own dog is not a particularly good bloodline. There are many instabilities in both genes and personality. Dogs with random mating also have various problems. Such breeding is not a good choice.
2. Dog's own condition
I have observed yuanyuan for two years, whether she likes to get along with male dogs, whether she can accept the behavior of mating, and it turns out that yuanyuan herself is also very resistant to other male dogs approaching and riding.
3. Abandonment is serious.
The last and most important reason is that the phenomenon of abandoning large dogs is quite serious. Many people see some marketing videos and think that large dogs are very cute, so they buy them home impulsively. Later, because of the high cost of raising them or the energy they spend, they abandon them irresponsibly. Large dogs do bring some cost pressure to their owners, so the adoption situation is not optimistic.
From my personal point of view, I can guarantee that I will be good to yuanyuan for a lifetime and try my best to raise her for the rest of her life, but I really don't have the ability to raise ten or even a hundred Alaskans. Instead of worrying about the future of her baby, it's better to start with me and refuse family breeding.
The day before the operation
The old mother took the round pig to the hospital, fearing that the nutrition after the operation could not keep up with the best dog food + freeze-dried + snacks, all arranged!
Dogs need to be on an empty stomach for more than 8 hours before any operation requiring anesthesia, so they need to be cut off from water and food after 12 o'clock the day before the operation.
The day of surgery
Physical examination
Before the operation, the doctor will give the dog a normal blood routine examination, which is included in the general sterilization package, and other items such as biochemical examination need to be paid at their own expense. At that time, in order to reduce the risk of surgery as much as possible, I asked the doctor to add biochemical examination items to yuanyuan to observe whether yuanyuan's liver and kidney function was healthy. Fortunately, yuanyuan, who was two and a half years old, had excellent physical skills.
In surgery
yuanyuan's surgery lasted nearly 2 hours, which is a really long time compared to other dogs. During the operation, my heart was in my throat every minute and every second. Fortunately, the operation was successfully completed, and I was relieved.
After the operation
When the doctor came out of the operating room, he was sweating profusely, panting and breathing heavily. He told me that your dog was really too fat.. (Embarrassed me). The subcutaneous fat was so thick (drawing on the spot). The stitches were sewn for a long time. I looked embarrassed and didn't know what to say. I could only say that the doctor had worked hard.
After the anesthetic, three doctors carried yuanyuan down from the operating table. Because of the pain of the wound, yuanyuan tore her heart and lungs. At that second, the old mother's heart was pulled together, wishing that it was her own pain at that second.
The wound is about 8cm long and is wrapped with gauze to prevent the dog from being licked or to maintain its body shape? The dog put on the gauze body-shaping clothes equipped by the hospital, probably because he was too fat, several net openings were broken, and the old mother was embarrassed online.
Seven days after the operation, the doctor can make an appointment to remove the stitches. In order to make the wound stronger, I made an appointment to remove the stitches 10 days after the operation. The stitches were removed very quickly, and it was done in a few minutes.
When it comes to recovery, we have to lament the dog's self-healing ability. On the first day after the operation, the squatting posture should be affected by the pain of the wound, and the water and food were cut off before the operation. On the day of the operation, the dog did not urinate and shit. On the second day, after the recovery of food, the excretion returned to normal, and on the third day, it was basically the same as the dog. However, the owner should pay attention to the dog's condition. Try to avoid large-scale exercise, avoid licking the wound, after all, there are many active babies to break the line, or the wound licking inflammation, in order to prevent secondary infection, owners or more long snacks!
Now yuanyuan is three and a half years old. After sterilization, she no longer has to suffer from estrus once every six months. She doesn't have to face the swollen peaches. She doesn't have to lick them clean because she is embarrassed to bleed at home. The annual physical examination shows that all the functions of yuanyuan are healthy. 。
