Don't be a little smelly--A guide to home bathing for dogs

Friends who have dogs have had the idea of washing their own dogs, but because of many difficulties in actual operation, they can only take them to the pet shop to wash. But the pet shops on the market are mixed, from cleaning products to cleaning methods, there are many differences. But is the half-hour bath and hair-blowing process credible? Does the chemical smell of pet shop cleaners bother you too? Today, I will talk to you briefly about the process of washing my dog. Summer is the easiest season to do your own cleaning. You might as well start cleaning your own children after reading this article.

Preparation before washing:

Yes, either pull up the dog into the bathroom, close the door and flush or wash the dog. Before the dog enters the bathroom, it needs to do the following cleaning first:

1. Hair combing: Remove the floating hair on the surface (in the season of hair loss) so that the detergent can directly act on the fur instead of this layer of shelter in the next cleaning, and do not let the falling floating hair block the floor drain (please feel free if you don't lose hair);
2. Nail clipping: For the average pet dog, the growth rate of nails far exceeds the degree of wear and tear. Nail clipping before bathing not only cleans up the mud in the nails in time, but also avoids long nails scratching the owner;
3. Ear cleaning: For our standing ear dogs who are not troubled by ear mites, ear cleaning before each bath is enough, and ear mites also need to be treated.
4. Drink water: Drink enough water before taking a bath, so as not to lick the bath water when taking a bath.

After these preparations, we can go into the bathroom to take a bath:

1. Start flushing from the dog's feet: the feet are the dirtiest, so you can use water to flush away some of the dirt first; the dog has a higher acceptance of foot washing, so it is easier for the dog to adapt from the feet;

2. Gradually move the shower up in the direction of legs-stomach-buttocks (tail)-back-neck. I wash the head in the last step to avoid premature resistance from the dog (for double-coated dogs, make sure the lower layer of fluff is also wet).

3. Wash the prepared shampoo layer by layer from feet, legs, belly, buttocks, back and neck in turn. Rub one part and then clean next part. You can use the bath brush to assist in cleaning the bottom fluff. When using the bath brush, you can't comb the hair in reverse for the convenience of foaming. You can only clean it along the direction of hair growth or upward/downward angles.

4. After the body is cleaned, slightly wet the head, wipe the last bubble on the chin/cheeks/top of the head, gently massage, and flush in time.

5. Repeat the fourth step for the second cleaning.

6. Smear the hair conditioner evenly on the body surface in the same order as when bathing. After smearing, gently massage to help hair absorption. After 5 minutes, rinse off the excess hair conditioner floating on the surface.
7. If you need to take a medicated bath, skip steps 5 and 6 and wash the dog again according to the steps of shampoo. The bath bubbles can not be washed off immediately. They need to stay on the surface for 10 minutes to help the efficacy penetrate. After covering for 10 minutes, they can be washed again.

Immediately after taking a shower, we enter the boring and important stage of blowing hair:

Wipe the hair on the body until it is half dry, blow off the moisture attached to the hair surface with the cold air of a water blower or a hair dryer, and comb the hair stuck together with a needle comb in a semi-fluffy state. Remember that when combing, you need to comb along the direction of hair growth, or obliquely upward/downward. Never comb in the opposite direction, which can easily cause hair breakage. When it is blown to a fluffy state, it also needs to be replaced by the hot air of the hair dryer to blow the dog's whole body, so as not to let the water vapor condense on the hair surface and regain moisture.

For the hair on the dog's face, only cold air can be used to blow and comb, and hot air can quickly cause resistance. For the limbs, try to help stretch the body after blowing, so that water vapor does not condense in the skin folds, especially in the armpits, neck, and hairy buttocks. You can refer to my 10kg dog, the whole use of hair dryer cold air-hot air, about 45 minutes or more, winter and Huangmei days are longer.

When it's all done, spray on the fur care element, and the little princess will be able to play beautifully.

Medicated bath products should be selected according to the doctor's prescription. Generally speaking, the retail price of cleaning products is more than 80 yuan/500g, which can also be selected according to specific needs. Explanation

for the dilution problem: Unless the concentrated shampoo is labeled, the rest can be foamed with water according to the ratio of 1:2. As for why it is foamed, it is to reduce the damage caused by the direct contact of chemicals with the skin, and it is more convenient to foam and clean.

For the choice of bubbler, of course, the greater the power, the better the foaming effect, you can also use the ready-made chicken rib tools at home, such as this IKEA 9.9 yuan product for my dog.
