Deworming is naturally the most important thing in a dog's life. Nowadays, shoveling officials have improved their knowledge of raising pets. They all know that dogs should be dewormed regularly. But do you know that puppies should be particularly careful about deworming for the first time? There is a lot of knowledge in anthelmintic, and Dr. E will tell you!

The first deworming is more likely to die.

After taking anthelmintic, the main causes of adverse reactions in puppies are as follows:
1. Drug efficacy is too strong, which stimulates the dog's body and causes adverse reactions;
2. The number of parasites in the intestine is too large, and some harmful substances released after being killed cause adverse reactions in dogs;
The younger and lighter the dog, the greater the effect.
Therefore, the first deworming, whether it is the choice of drugs or the choice of deworming time, should be more careful.
Preferential elimination of intestinal parasites
Intestinal roundworms, tapeworms, external lice, fleas, heartworms and Toxoplasma gondii, there are so many parasites on dogs, roundworms are the insects that puppies must get rid of for the first time. Domestic dogs have the highest infection rate of roundworm, and roundworm can also be transmitted to puppies through the mother, which has the greatest impact on the vaccine, so the first deworming should be the first deworming.

Pay attention to the dosage when choosing drugs.
1-2 months old puppies of different breeds, ranging in weight from 1 kg to 20 kg, the lighter the dog's deworming reaction is greater, and many drugs are usually used less than X kg to feed a tablet, underweight dogs are not recommended to choose such drugs.

The reason is well understood. If the instructions for the use of anthelmintic are that a dog weighing less than 5kg is fed one tablet, it means that a dog weighing 1 kg and a dog weighing 4 kg are given the same dosage. In this case, if there is a drug reaction, the reaction intensity of a dog weighing 1 kg is naturally much higher than that of a dog weighing 4 kg.
Bai Chong Qing is generally considered to be a very safe drug, but there are still many dogs who have major discomfort after taking the drug. These dogs are usually underweight dogs, so it should be noted that Bai Chong Qing can only be used by dogs weighing more than 3kg.
Dogs weighing less than 1 kg should choose a drug that States that there is a dose per kilogram of body weight, or that divides the weight range more finely, so that the dose can be easily controlled.
If the weight is not up to standard, you can slow down the deworming.
Some toy VIPs weigh less than one kilogram in about two months, although they can be fed with anthelmintic according to their weight, but because these dogs are too light, as long as diarrhea occurs, it will be very serious and easy to cause dehydration. It can not be dewormed temporarily or adopt the mode of first testing and then deworming, so as to avoid the adverse reactions of dogs caused by the abuse of anthelmintic drugs.

The first deworming can be fed separately
Of course, anthelmintic is the best to feed at one time, but the liver metabolic function of younger dogs is poor. To be on the safe side, the drug can be divided into two times to feed, one time to feed 1/2, and the interval between two times can be 8 hours.

Choose a safer drug
Some external anthelmintics can expel both internal parasites and intestinal parasites, such as Super Credible, Big Favor and so on. Disposable internal and external drive, to avoid the stimulation of excessive medication on dogs.
Choose an anthelmintic with high safety and specially designed for small weight dogs.
In addition, the dog may spit out the medicine during the first deworming. At this time, do not add the medicine at will. Even if there is no effect for the time being, the deworming medicine should be re-fed at an interval of about 15 days.
