A new member of the family

When the owner kept showing us the nest of border herdsmen in the shop, Doggy naturally began to chew my shoes. After a discussion with her husband, she decided to adopt Doggy back. Just got home and got sick?

On the morning of Doggy's third day in his new home, Doggy's mother found a lump of green jelly-like poop on the urine pad, with a little blood at the end.

I realized that Doggy must be sick. My husband and I quickly held him in our arms, searched the hospital near the community on our mobile phones, and went to see a doctor.

There is an animal clinic on the opposite side of the

community. After explaining the situation to the doctor, the doctor said to do the test paper first, and then draw some blood for testing. At that time, I was very nervous. I thought to myself that it must not be parvocanine distemper. In my impression, these two diseases are definitely incurable for puppies. Even if they are treated with money, they are not so lucky to be cured. The result is.. Small.

After getting the result, the doctor also asked us directly whether we could cure it or not. After discussion, my husband and I unanimously decided not to give it up and let it receive treatment. Doctors take the injection with infusion treatment, first three days in a row, and do not give any food during the treatment. The doctor shaved Doggy's right foot and implanted an indwelling needle. Doggy was also very good. He was not noisy or uncomfortable. He slept all the time during the infusion.

How did Parvo come about?

On the day I took it back after the infusion, I searched a lot of posts about parvo, and many dogs got these diseases as soon as they took it back. Many dogs who saw the post lost their lives because of parvovirus, and even a two-year-old Samoyed died of illness.

Parvo is actually acute gastroenteritis. Dogs with parvo will have no spirit, no appetite, vomiting and soft stool. The stool is pasty, thin, jelly-like with blood at the end, and the frequency of defecation is increasing. Once these early symptoms are found, go to the hospital quickly. The more early treatment of parvovirus, the higher survival rates. The later the dog is treated, the more painful it is, with frequent vomiting and severe diarrhea in the middle. Later, the feces turned into foul soy sauce, tomato juice-like bloody stool, and finally some even pulled blood directly. The whole course of the disease usually does not exceed a week, so many parents pray that "as long as they get through seven days, they will be fine.".

Parvovirus is not divided into age and season. Vaccinated dogs have strong resistance and are not so easily infected. Newborn puppies and unvaccinated dogs are the favorite targets of parvovirus, and there is an incubation period. So that's why many parents have no problems when they are tested on the spot in pet stores, but they are infected after returning home. So we must remember to take pets to vaccinate every year!

Actively accept treatment

Day1: I'm glad we found out just in time. Doggy came back from the infusion on the first day and didn't have any more soft stools. Looking at it curled up together without speaking, we can't imagine that it has pain in the end.

Day2: On the second day of Doggy's infusion, he was in good condition, with no soft stool and no vomiting symptoms. But I'm not energetic, and I'm sleepy all the time.

Don't worry about whether the dogs will be hungry if they don't eat. The doctor added glucose to the infusion liquid, which is enough to maintain their energy for a day. Don't be soft-hearted and steal food for your dog! What they eat will only increase the burden on their intestines and stomach and aggravate their illness. And be sure to keep warm! It's better to be hot than cold. Dogs lie on the ground, and the floor is too cold to stimulate their intestines and stomach! Cover it with a bed, a blanket or something.

Day3: On the third day of infusion, I was quite worried. Many posters said that the third and fourth days of morbidity were the most dangerous, and it was very likely that they would suddenly morbidity and die in the middle of the night.. So I just took him to bed to keep him warm and keep me informed of his condition.

Doggy's condition was a little complicated in the next few days. He was about to get through a week. He began to cough. The doctor said he had a cold. He continued to receive infusion every day while doing atomization treatment. It's runny nose to relieve his cough. Cough and runny nose every day, it's too painful to look at. Every day when I got up, I saw Doggy's nose was covered with snot, and I was worried that he couldn't endure it.

Nursing after illness

Finally! Get through seven days! On the seventh day of taking Doggy to the infusion, the doctor said it was time to start trying to feed him. Disinfectant, nutritional cream, prescription food and prescription cans were purchased from doctors. Special prescription food and canned prescription food will be used to regulate the dog's intestines and stomach after illness, and then replaced by ordinary dog food after a period of conditioning. bought Doggy a dog bowl that can be weighed. You can have a look. At that time, Doggy was not as big as a dog bowl. It was finally time to eat, and the little guy finished it in less than a minute. Soak the dog food soft, add some canned food, and feed some nutritional cream to help them recover early!

Why use disinfectant? Infected dogs and recovered infected dogs will be detoxified from feces, urine, saliva and vomit for a long time, and the virus may remain in everything they touch, toys and the environment. So if you have more than one pet at home, you must pay attention to keeping the sick dog in captivity, or treat it directly in the hospital, do not take it home, and give it to the healthy pet at home. Sick dogs can be disinfected with this disinfectant every day when they come into contact with things or places contaminated by dropping. 2. I have also seen many posters prescribe the right medicine to cure parvovirus. Some symptoms of parvovirus are very similar to those of canine distemper, so it is better to confirm whether it is "parvovirus" or "canine distemper" before deciding how to treat it. If you choose hospital treatment, what you can do is to trust the doctor! Encourage your dog! First of all, do not panic, the dog has been very uncomfortable, the next step is to choose a suitable treatment for the dog, to help the dog through the difficulties!

3. Many people say that dogs with parvovirus will grow smaller than normal dogs in the future. In fact, they are not. Instead, I feel that Doggy's resistance is stronger after parvovirus. After recovery, nothing has happened. At present, he has hardly had any diseases, not even skin diseases. Of course, dogs who have recovered from parvocanine distemper will not suffer from the same disease in their lifetime. As long as the nutrition keeps up, the sick dogs are the same as the healthy ones.

4. Please think carefully before choosing to keep a pet. Don't rush home from the market like Doggy's mother. I don't know what Doggy's mother and father look like without after-sales guarantee. The first choice of purchase is a famous kennel, which will be more secure after sale. Then there are the domestic puppies. Doggy's mother is also a "wolf grandmother" now.
