Hello everyone, I am your old friend, leader ~
the topic of this issue is about the discovery, treatment and prevention of golden retriever dog skin disease.
first of all, I would like to draw a key point:
golden retriever dogs have gorgeous fur, but they are sensitive to environmental hygiene and air humidity. they are very delicate and relatively easy to suffer from skin diseases. Therefore, when raising our golden retriever dogs, we must pay more care and love.
How is skin disease?
Generally speaking, when you find that our dogs are scratching and scratching frequently and the hair in our home is increasing, you should pay attention!
for example, we raise our back paws to scratch our chin, chest and belly, and always lick our claws. however, the sweeping robot, which only needs to open once a day at ordinary times, becomes unable to do so. please pay attention to our skin condition: pull off the thick Mao Mao (it is also possible that it is partially not thick because of skin disease, and smile. jpg) to see if the skin is red? Broken skin? Is it pus?
In case of skin disease, don't wait, deal with it in time to avoid aggravation ~
Hospital visits, early treatment and early recovery
I have a concept, which is the lesson learned through blood and tears in the past 4 years of raising me, that is,-absolutely can't be a barefoot doctor!!
this concept, ma ma ma and I have repeatedly stressed in many previous articles that existence is reasonable. if any problem can be solved by the pet owner, why do you need the veterinarian's little brother and sister?
can make good use of search and can also ask dog friends (should everyone have a lot of dog friends?) senior dog friends, however, the most should follow, or the doctor's advice!
Of course, there are some small, known, recurring skin problems that can be solved by yourself.
here, my advice is:
Step 1, carefully shave off the affected part and surrounding Mao Mao
this electric clipper is the product I received in the Meng claw alliance in this period. I think it is not bad. the experience draft has not come out yet (hey hey), but recommend ~ fine steel ceramic big cutter head in advance, it's great for large dogs like our golden retriever.
Step 2, spray a little fairy water for sterilization and disinfection
fairy water, don't I need to say more?
The first time I used the ear care solution in fairy water before, this is for wound treatment and skin care. Compared with household iodine, it has mild ingredients and destroys the living environment of bacteria and viruses, so it is relatively safer and more environmentally friendly.
is more expensive, and the shelf life is short, and you need to pay attention to sealing, cool, and normal temperature when storing. It is recommended to purchase small bottles in daily reserves. If the usage is very large in the near future, it is more cost-effective to use large bottles.
Step 3, universal ointment for external use?
is there any universal ointment for external use? Yes, AKC broad-spectrum skin cream. I bought this last stock from e pet dad, and I haven't seen e pet sell it since then. it's strange ~
It has an effect on fungal, bacterial skin diseases, eczema, and pyometra. It has a quick effect. The disadvantage is that it has a strong sulfur smell and is greasy. It always makes the home dirty everywhere.
Put on another Elizabeth circle, Perfect! The neck circumference of this dog is 46cm. I didn't see the style I like very much in E pet (proud me, hum ~), so I bought it elsewhere. XXXL size, adjustable neck circumference 34-52cm, the part near the neck is soft and comfortable to wear. Other parts are hard plastic and easy to clean.
Attention, don't get stuck too tight!
Of course, there are also E pets, such as this ~
Two magic weapons to prevent skin diseases: health and dryness
I environmental sanitation needless to say, as we all know, we must ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of our living environment, be good at collecting and cleaning regularly, and resolutely not provide hotbeds for the growth of bacteria! This is the same as human beings raising human babies. our dogs are also human babies. in the same way ~
in addition, I don't like to use those spray potions. instead, I bought ultraviolet ozone disinfection lamps for me. every weekend, I closed the doors of each room and turned on the lamps for disinfection for one hour. that's enough.
If it is dry, I would like to remind you that we golden retriever dogs are really prone to eczema or recurrence of fungal infection in rainy season because they are not dried in time after swimming, walking in rainy days and getting wet in rain, stepping on puffy feet and not drying in time.
Focus on dog health! Pay attention to keeping the ground dry at home, keeping the dog's hair and skin dry, trimming the plantar fur frequently, and regularly observing whether there is any red and itchy interdigital inflammation. If the fur on the body is wet, wipe it dry for us when you go home, and then blow it again with a hair dryer/water blower. The chest, creaking nest and belly are all places where skin diseases are easy to occur. You should pay more attention.
What? You have a golden retriever but you don't buy a water blower? Emmmm, actually I don't want to buy one either, but now the price in Hangzhou is really getting higher and higher, and the delivery and washing is too expensive. Sometimes I wash it at home by myself. If you wash it yourself, you will find that the water blower is really a magic thing! How God is it? Hee hee, experience it yourself!
This is not the one we use at home, but I looked at it and found that the evaluation of E-pet is not bad. It has high power and is enough for drying long-haired large dogs.
Conclusion
Well, that's all I want to say about SAY NO to skin diseases.
generally speaking, there are no more than three points:
1, keep the living environment clean and the dog's hair dry
2, prepare common drugs and articles for emergencies
3, check the dog's physical condition regularly, and see a doctor in time when encountering problems (don't be a barefoot doctor!!)
I hope everyone can keep the dog well. thank you for reading, chirp mi!
P.S.: The above is a personal experience and is for reference only.
